Ben Amies-Cull

Ben is a GP and also a Clinical Researcher at Oxford University, where he is leading an evaluation of the long term-health benefits of the Child Obesity Prevention Initiative. This builds on previous research he has undertaken into a range of factors influencing childhood obesity. He is drawing on this wide range of experience to act as our Obesity Adviser.

Michael Baber

Michael is a former College Principal and charity CEO. A Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health he has led research projects to identify how to reduce childhood obesity; encourage healh behaviour change; improve health at work; and reduce the risk of mental ill health. Michael has also provided evidence for parliamentary inquiries, most recently providing evidence in person to the House of Commons Health & Social Care Committee in November 2025. 

Barbara Baker

Barbara is a former University Lecturer, Senior Research Fellow for a cancer charity, and author. She has undertaken a range of ageing-related research for us, and is our Healthy Ageing Research Lead. Barbara is also co-author of 'AI-based treatment of psychological conditions: the potential use, benefits and drawbacks', published in Exploration in Digital Health Technologies in April 2025.

Sally Cartwright

Sally is Director of Public Health for Cambridgeshire County Council, where she is leading a whole council approach to health equity and prevention, and delivery of key public health priorities. She was previously Director of Public Health for Luton Borough Council, where she led Luton to become the first Marmot (health equity) town.

Cordelia Hagan

Cordelia is a Trustee and also our Company Secretary. She is an Associate of the Chartered Governance Institute with several years’ experience in corporate governance. Currently serving as a Senior Company Secretarial Assistant at a multinational insurance company, Cordelia provides company secretarial services to a portfolio of subsidiary companies mainly in the UK. She previously worked as an Assistant Company Secretary at Post Office Ltd.

Sarah Jones

Sarah has 18 years’ experience as a healthcare policy and government affairs specialist. During this time, she has provided strategic counsel to global pharmaceutical/med tech companies, a range of healthcare charities and social enterprises. She has also worked for the world's largest union and professional body for nursing.

Elif Oflaz

Elif has a Professional Doctorate in Health Psychology and brings extensive experience of Health and Wellbeing at Work programmes, including strategy, design and implementation. She chairs the European Workforce Health Clinicians Group.

Susi Sadler

Susi is a Health Economist with over eleven years experience in academic and consultancy roles, focusing on economic modelling. She is currently Director of Modelling & Analytics at ConnectHEOR, after Director and Associate Director roles at Cytel. Earlier experience included work as a Principal Health Economist, Research Fellow and Research Analyst. Susi is currently leading our Mental Health Burden of Disease health economics research.

Elizabeth Walters

Elizabeth is a Lecturer in Public Health at the University of East London. Her research interests include health inequalities, community development and implementation science. She is a project steering committee member for NIHR funded Housing Model Evaluation (HOME) - which researches improvements in health associated with housing-led systems for people experiencing homelessness.
