Michael Baber

Michael is a former College Principal and charity CEO. A Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health he has led research projects to identify how to reduce childhood obesity; encourage healh behaviour change: improve health at work; and reduce the risk of mental ill health.

 

Carina Bektur

Carina brings valuable expertise in health economics, combining academic and consultancy experience in client-facing scientific leadership and project management. She is currently a Senior Consultant in Health Economics for Clarivate Analytics (UK), a leading global provider of transformative intelligence in areas including Life Sciences and Healthcare. Carina holds a PhD in Health Economics, a BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology from King’s College London and an MPP from Nazarbayev University. Her postdoctoral work at King’s included health economic research for the NIHR-funded program, "Improving the Lives of Stroke Survivors with Data."

 

Cordelia Hagan

Cordelia is a Trustee and also our Company Secretary. She is an Associate of the Chartered Governance Institute with several years’ experience in corporate governance. Currently serving as a Senior Company Secretarial Assistant at a multinational insurance company, Cordelia provides company secretarial services to a portfolio of subsidiary companies mainly in the UK. She previously worked as an Assistant Company Secretary at Post Office Ltd.

 

Rachel Harris

Rachel brings valuable experience of working with UK Research & Innovation (UKRI). After a PhD in Neuroscience she went on to work for the Medical Research Council, UKRI International and the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council. Rachel is currently Cross Council Innovation and Partnerships Manager at Innovate UK.

 

Ola Kotun

Ola is Head of Clinical Operating Model for Nuffield Health, the UK’s largest healthcare charity. She brings a range of healthcare experience, including Electronic Health and Clinical Informatics, and has both a Masters in Occupational Health and an Executive MBA.

Ola is taking on the role of Chief Health Information Officer (CHIO), with a particular remit to revitalise our health information.

 

Karishma Krishna Kurup

Karishma is a Research Fellow for the Global Health Program at Chatham House, the think tank. Her previous posts include Technical Consultant for the South East Asia Field Epidemiology Network, Medical Coordinator Support for Medecins Sans Frontiers in India, and a Medical Scientist for the Indian Council for Medical Research. 

She is a qualified medical practitioner with a Master's in Public Health (Health Systems and Epidemiology) and a Diploma in Tropical and Humanitarian Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians, London.

 

Sarah Jones

Sarah has 17 years’ experience as a healthcare policy and government affairs specialist. During this time, she has provided strategic counsel to global pharmaceutical/med tech companies, a range of healthcare charities and social enterprises. She has also worked for the world's largest union and professional body for nursing.  

 

Jennie Leggat

Jennie works on policy at the Health Foundation, having previously been a Public Health Policy Fellow at Cambridge Judge Business School. She is also a Researcher for the Health Equity Network at Cambridge Public Health and a Member of the Environmental Health Integration Team at Bristol Health Partners. Her previous experience includes working as a Clinical Scientist in the NHS and volunteering with a number of health charities.

 

Ali Mahta 

Ali

Ali is a Neurologist, specialising in intensive care for patients with acute brain injuries. He has recently taken up the post of program director for neurocritical care fellowship at University of California San Diego (UCSD). Prior to this he combined working as a neurologist at Rhode Island Hospital with work as Associate Professor of Neurology and Neurosurgery at Brown University. His previous experience includes a Research Fellowship at Harvard, a residency in Neurology at Temple University School of Medicine and a Fellowship in neurocritical care at Columbia University Medical Centre.

 

Christine Megson

Christine is a management consultant working across public services, particularly focusing on education, leadership and change management. A former consultant at Sheffield Hallam Business School she set up and coordinates the Fabian Women’s Network mentoring programme and has recently been appointed a Vice President of the Fabian Society. She was awarded an MBE in 2021 for her services to gender equality.

  

Maggie Pringle

Maggie has been Head of an Inner London secondary school, Associate Director of the Centre for the Study of Comprehensive Schools (CSCS) and an education consultant, trainer and author. She has also been a member of the Independent Monitoring Board for a London prison.
